Record Store Day announces special releases for Black Friday

It’s the most wonderful time of the year...for discophiles. In case you were wondering, that is the proper nomenclature for lovers of vinyl. Discophiles are undoubtedly giddy over the Black Friday Record Store Day announcement that arrived on Wednesday (Oct. 10). But even if you’re not into records all that much, this year’s Black Friday Record Store Day list has some great gift ideas for the discophile in your life.

As Stereogum reported, some of the highlights of BFRSD 2018 include a 12” of OutKast’s “Rosa Parks;” an Africa-shaped 10” of Weezer’s “Africa” cover; a double LP of Rage Against The Machine’s Live and Rare; Flaming Lips’ The Mushroom Tapes LP; a 12” of A$AP Ferg’s B-Sides, a 12” of Keith Richards covering the Chuck Berry holiday classic “Run Rudolph Run;” The Grateful Dead’s Playing In The Band, Seattle WA 5/21/74; a double LP of The Ramones' Live in Glasgow Dec.19, 1977; and a reissue of Devo’s classic debut Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!
