Ringo Starr and the All-Starr Band ended their Fall 2017 tour Nov. 16 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark with the band coming together and performing some great music, Ken Michaels, host of the Beatles show “Every Little Thing” and co-host of the Beatles podcast “Things We Said Today,” told AXS.com.

“It was a complete joy to watch the last two shows on Ringo's latest tour with the All-Starrs,” he said. “The band was on fire at the Beacon show, and I've always said that while all the songs sound great, they really excel when it comes to the songs that they jam on, in particular, the Santana and Toto songs.

“The musicianship was top-notch. They can do these songs in their sleep, and while their setlist hasn't changed much in the six years they've toured together, they always appear to be having a blast, enjoying this special time they have together. More than just a group of stellar musicians, these guys have become a family. You really sense that from their introductions on stage, and how they clown around, with members leaning against each other, and lots of dance moves, that they genuinely enjoy each other as friends.”

During the show, Ringo sang “Matchbox,” “It Don't Come Easy,” “What Goes On,” “Boys,” “Don't Pass Me By,” “Yellow Submarine,” “You're Sixteen,” “Back Off Boogaloo,” “I Wanna Be Your Man,” “Act Naturally” and “With a Little Help From My Friends.”

“This band has been together longer than any of the All-Starr bands,” Michaels noted. “And while we don't know what Ringo's next move will be if he'll still keep the same band or try another set of musicians, this is probably the closest band of brothers he's had since that other band.”

Ringo is currently inviting fans to contribute photos and videos to be part of a fan-made music video for “Give More Love,” the title song from his current album. Details can be found at the Give More Love website.
