Soulful pop-funk would be one way to describe up and coming band The Shadowboxers. With pop sensibilities, funky musicianship and soulful vocals, The Shadowboxers are on the fast track to stardom. If you’d like to see them live before they completely blow up, you will be afforded the chance this summer as the group has announced their Timezone tour set to get underway July 28 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The tour will see the band throughout the country including stops in major markets like Los Angeles, Dallas, Philadelphia, Denver, Boston, New York and more before wrapping up in Washington D.C. on Nov. 12. The Shadowboxers formed when Adam Hoffman (vocals, guitars), Matt Lipkins (vocals, keyboards) and Scott Schwartz (vocals, guitars) met at Atlanta’s Emory University in 2008. The band got their start opening for and backing the Indigo Girls after Emily Sailers heard Scott Schwartz sing and play some of his songs at a Passover Seder in Atlanta. Sailers said that she was “stunned” when she heard Schwartz voice. You can check out the video for The Shadowboxers’ “Woman Through the Wall” above to see what Sailers was talking about.
