Rough Trade NYC to host Aussie rapper Allday

Rough Trade NYC will host hip-hop artist Tom Gaynor, better known by his stage name Allday, on Wednesday, Aug. 9. The  Los Angeles-based (via Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) rapper will be joined by special guest Blood Cultures for the 9 p.m. performance.

Allday is on the road promoting his highly anticipated sophomore studio long-player, Speeding, which was released back in April through We Are Unified WMI. The album features guest appearances from fellow Aussie musicians Japanese Wallpaper, Mallrat, and Nyne. Four singles have been released from Speeding: “Sides,” “Send Nudes,” “In Motion,” and “Raceway.”

Speeding comes just two years after the worldwide release of Startup Cult, Allday’s debut album. Startup Cult, released in September 2015 via Wind Up Records, reached No. 3 on the ARIA charts.  The collection produced three singles: “Right Now,” “You Always Know the DJ,” and “Wolves,” which features Sunni Colón.

Also on the bill is Blood Cultures, a mysterious new wave, indie and electro-pop band hailing from New Jersey. Blood Cultures, who emerged in 2013 with their debut single “Indian Summer,” are back with their self-released debut LP, Happy Birthday. Released back in July, Happy Birthday is anchored by the psychedelic synth-infused lead single “Moon.” It also includes their latest single “Scenes From A Midnight Movie,” as well as the previously released “Indian Summer.”

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased here at Doors open at 8 p.m. This is an 18 & over event. Rough Trade NYC is located at 64 North 9th Street in Brooklyn, New York. For more information, visit Allday on Facebook and Rough Trade NYC’s website.
