Ry Cooder has become the "Prodigal Son" of music.

It’s been a while since anyone has last heard from him-- six years to be exact. While many were questioning whether he had disappeared from our radars forever, Cooder was busy in his recording lab, cooking up the latest stew of sounds that would be tasty to the earbuds.

Cooder is a legend in his craft, playing with such heavyweights as Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stone, Neil Young, and The Doobie Brothers among other musical giants. Born and raised in Los Angeles, the guitar entered his life when he was three-years-old, and that one instrument has taken him to heights that few have ever seen.

His last LP came out in 2012, the splendid Election Special, and he went quiet after that. Now that he’s back on the scene with his 17th album, The Prodigal Son, Cooder is going back on the road to promote his new batch of material to fans who are eager to see his return. The Prodigal Son tour will weave its way from Virginia to Oregon, crisscrossing the country to show fans that he didn’t go under forever, he just wanted to bring them something truly special.
