Rapper turned reality star Safaree recently celebrated the release of his album, Fur Coat Vol. 1, at Manhattan's Room Mate Grace Hotel. Donning requisite multicolored pelts, the "Love & Hip Hop: New York" cast member welcomed friends, fans and costars, along with the expected VH1 cameras. Fur Coat Vol. 1 is a 15-track project that was released on Nov. 20, and features Mayday Carter, Philly Swain, Bowe Jack and Sean Kingston. Led by the single "Paradise" featuring Kingston, the album has already amassed over 20,000 streams on DatPiff. The music video for "Paradise," meanwhile, has over one million views on YouTube.
The release party demonstrated the strength of Safaree's marketing prowess: A Stunt Gang ice sculpture, brand ambassadors playing the rapper's music videos on monitors built into their varsity jackets, Stunt Gang branded inner tubes and models wearing Stunt Gang swimsuits in the hotel's indoor pool, and other branding elements. His fan base also came out in numbers-- many of them wearing fur coats themselves. Also in attendance were entrepreneur J. Alexander Martin and Safaree's fellow "Love & Hip Hop: New York" costars DJ Self, Juju, and Felicia "Snoop" Pearson. Safaree performed while DJ Stakz played the album, and the partygoers danced and rapped along to the lyrics, track after track. Look for footage from the bash to appear in a future episode, and check out Safaree's Fur Coat Vol. 1 on iTunes and other digital outlets.
