In an ongoing series, AXS Sports is featuring the free agents the San Diego Seals signed on Aug. 1. In the eighth part of the series, we will feature transition player Nick Ossello.
Ossello comes to the Seals with National Lacrosse League experience. He played four regular season games with the Colorado Mammoth in 2017. He registered one assist for one point, 10 penalty minutes, collected nine loose balls, committed one turnover, had one shot on goal and won five faceoffs.
Ossello recorded his lone point in a 13-7 Mammoth win over the Rochester Knighthawks on April 15, 2017 at the Pepsi Center. He recorded his assist on a goal by Eli McLaughlin at 1:19 of the second quarter which put the Mammoth up 4-1 at the time. In the 2017 National Lacrosse League playoffs, Ossello also saw some action as he played game one of the Western Final and recorded two penalty minutes, had one shot on goal, collected two loose balls, committed one turnover and had four faceoff wins in the Mammoth's 18-9 loss to the Saskatchewan Rush on May 13, 2017.
At age 25, Ossello is 6'1", 185 pounds. He shoots right. A two-sport athlete, Ossello also played football at the University of Notre Dame for the Fighting Irish.
