Music fans who watched the red carpet coverage prior to the 2017 Grammy Awards a couple weeks ago may remember ScHoolboy Q standing out, well, like a pink hoodie on a fancy red carpet. The Blank Face rapper is certainly living up to his “Man of the Year” reputation, as he recently gave the pink “Girl Power” hoodie he wore alongside his daughter at the Grammys to a fan who was seriously injured in a car crash recently.

A University of California student who goes by the Instagram handle, KattyB, was severely injured in a car accident about a week ago, and shared her story via the popular social media network in hopes of reaching the rapper.

In a post which showed her ScHoolboy Q hoodie with blood stains on it from the car accident she was in, the young fan said, “Behold, my most beloved @groovyq sweater that I wore on the day of the car accident. That blood is from the scratches and gashes from the broken glass window pieces, especially the hole it made underneath my chin … [the paramedics] told me they needed to cut up my sweater but I wouldn't let them. Even with my fractured ribs I somehow made myself strip this piece of clothing to save it. At the time I didn't think of my concussion, shattered pelvis, fractured ankle, broken and dislocated toes, lacerated kidney and spleen, fractured ribs or my punctured right lung. No, I thought of @groovyq @topdawgent and how I was still finna rock this crippled or not.”

Luckily for her, she survived the ordeal, and the news somehow rached the the popular rapper, who responded on Twitter saying, “I got sum stuff for u.... sorry about wat Happened to u get well.”

In addition to offering the fan three new sweaters, ScHoolboy Q reportedly also gave her that signature pink hoodie of his from Grammy night as a show of affection for the battered but alive fan.

“Thank you for noticing me,” she gratefully responded after being sent the new merchandise. “Being the person and artist that you are, and making great art for your fans."

Views from my wheelchair. Behold, my most beloved @groovyq sweater that I wore on the day of the car accident. The paramedics rushed to the scene as fast as possible, bless their souls for saving my life and rushing me to a Trauma1 hospital in Fresno.
