Even though it's still February, now is the time to start making those fun, summer travel plans - and if you're looking for a cool place to visit this July, look no further than Bangor, Maine! South African alternative rockers Seether has just announced the fifth annual Rise Above Fest, and that alone will be well worth the trip for those who live outside of the general area.
The multi-stage music festival was created to help support suicide prevention and mental illness issues, all proceeds from the Rise Above Fest go to benefit SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education), one of the nation's leading not-for-profit organizations devoted to educating the public about suicide and metal health in order to save more lives.
The 2017 installment of the Rise Above Fest has been expanded to two days this year for the first time in its five year history, and will take place once again at the Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor, Maine on July 22 and 23. Joining Seether this year are the bands Korn, Stone Sour, Shinedown, Halestorm, Falling in Reverse, Skillet, Theory of a Deadman, Hellyeah, All That Remains and more.
"It's unbelievable we're in our fifth year of Rise Above Fest," exclaimed Seether vocalist, Shaun Morgan. "We started this out as a way to give back and raise awareness. To have created something that our friends and fans believe in is really humbling. Every year it's grown and it's an honor to bring you a two-day experience. Can't wait to see you there."
