Sigur Rós launch their own brand of limited-edition cannabis edibles

Just in time for 420, Iceland’s premiere experimental rock export in Sigur Rós and popular cannabis manufacturing/distribution brand Lord Jones have teamed up for a limited-edition run of edibles.

As Pitchfork reports, the two will be putting out some pretty tasty THC-infused “medicated gumdrops” under the name, “Wild Sigurberry.” The tastes of the mind-altering gummies were apparently inspired by "the flavors of foraged Icelandic berries,” which includes blackberries, strawberries and blueberries. Music fans and newly legalized cannabis enthusiasts will be able to try the medicinal snack when it arrives in its custom designed package, courtesy of popular artist Andrew Rae. Think of it as a specially prepared album cover, except it's one that you can open up and eat.

“For us, it really is a dream come true to collaborate with Sigur Rós,” said Robert Rosenheck, the founder of Lord Jones. “Their music has been more than an inspiration to us over the years.”

Qualified marijuana patients will  be able to purchase Wild Sigurberry at select dispensaries throughout California, in addition to home delivery for states where pot is legalized. Adventurous souls can also sample the gumdrops at NeueHouse in Hollywood on April 18, where both the band and Lord Jones will be co-hosting a “sound bath.” There will also be “multimedia collaborations” provided by the band at the event, which will take those in attendance through “moments in sound, film, and VR.”

Sigur Rós continue to spend their year on the road with a spring tour that runs until June 17, with a final show at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York.
