For the first time in the history of “Rainbow Six Siege,” the prize pool for the Six Invitational has topped the $1 million mark. Sixteen of the best “Rainbow Six Siege” teams in the world will compete for that prodigious pool and for the title of World Champion in this year’s Six Invitational.

Six Invitational is an annual professional “Rainbow Six Siege” tournament hosted by the game’s publisher, Ubisoft. “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege” is a video game based on the series of novels written by author Tom Clancy. A media franchise sprang from the “Rainbow Six” series, and the latest game by Ubisoft is a part of it. The tactical shooter “Rainbow Six Siege” was released in 2015.

The first Six Invitational was held in 2017. This year marks the third annual gathering for the tournament. Six Invitational 2019 will be held in Montreal, at the Place Bell, from Feb. 11-17.

The sixteen teams competing in Six Invitational 2019 are as follows: G2 Esports, Team Reciprocity, Evil Geniuses, FaZe Clan, Fnatic, Immortals, Mock-it Esports, PET Nora-Rengo, Rogue, PENTA, Team Empire, LeStream Esport, Spacestation Gaming, Team Liquid, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and mantis FPS.

The Quarter Finals take place on Feb. 15. Whichever teams make it to the Semi-Finals will progress to the matches on Feb. 16. The Grand Finals are on Feb. 17.

Despite a short run of two years, the Six Invitational has a strong showing of participants and audience members. The gargantuan amount of money in the prize pool is indicative of the game’s success as an eSport. Be sure to check the results of Six Invitational 2019 once the World Champion has been declared.
