If anyone wondered how huge Slayer is to the world of heavy metal music, the iconic thrash metal gods have a day every year dedicated to the band. Known as one of the founding fathers of thrash metal, along with Anthrax, Metallica and Megadeth, International Slayer Day takes place every year on June 6.

This year, the band has a special treat for their fans to celebrate International Slayer Day. Slayer will release the Repentless collector's vinyl box set that day. This will be a limited edition that is available in gold, red and black colored discs. The set will feature six single vinyl EPs with two songs from the Repentless album on each.

Slayer originally released Repentless in 2015 and is the first album since the death of their founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman. Exodus guitarist Gary Holt replaced him for the release. It debuted at fourth on the Billboard 200 and had three singles. The album was a No. 1 hit in Germany.

According to the official website of International Slayer Day, fans are encouraged to listen to Slayer at full blast in their car, at home, at work and anywhere else in public they want. Fans are also told not to use headphones so everyone can celebrate, including forcing it on non-participants.

Slayer is currently out on tour with Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth and Testament and AXS has tickets available to a large number of their upcoming shows (buy tickets here).
