What was once misunderstood and viewed as rebel music is now responsible for paving the roads for many acts in hip-hop. Ice Cube's songwriting ability helped put N.W.A on the map in the late '80s and made others aware of the police violence many Southern Californians experienced on a regular basis through an artistic lens. Snoop Dogg's emergence exposed a life of the gang banging culture as well as his trials and tribulations trying to survive in Long Beach, California. Both artists contributed to a sound that defined a generation within the realm of hip-hop.
Now, with both of these acts officially seasoned veterans and amongst some of the most recognizable personalities not only in hip-hop but pop culture, their brands have surpassed music-based endeavors. Both Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg are renaissance men in their own right. Ice Cube is officially the major sports organization owner of the three-on-three basketball league the BIG3 as well as a renowned film producer. Snoop Dogg is an avid participant in his own youth football league, the Snoop Youth Football League (SYFL), the creative director for Adidas Football, and a marijuana advocate and investor.
Despite both of their many lucrative endeavors, it still doesn't stop the two legends from returning to the platform that has brought them to where they are today. Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube will be headlining the 420 Wellness Retreat alongside west coast legends The Dogg Pound and Warren G on April 18 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. Tickets for the one-time event are available for purchase, here.
