Sparta shares new song and announces tour

Sparta has released a brand new single titled “Cat Scream.” The Texas post-hardcore vets, led by At The Drive In’s Jim Ward, reunited last fall and released “Graveyard Luck,” their first song in five years. Fans can stream “Cat Scream” now on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and YouTube.

With the release of their latest single, the band also announced plans to hit the road this summer, with dates occurring on both the east and west coasts as well as select cities in between. The first show will take place on July 5 at Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The 15-date trek will hit The Sinclair in Boston, Massachusetts (Aug. 15) and the soon-to-reopen Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, N.J. (Aug. 16) before wrapping at Rock & Roll Hotel in Washington, DC on Aug. 18. Tickets for all dates are on sale now.

Prior to the summer tour, Sparta will perform a handful of dates in and around California throughout the month of May.

Threes, Sparta’s most recent full-length, debuted at No. 83 on the Billboard 200, following its release via Hollywood Records and ANTI- in October 2006. The 12-track collection, which was released on vinyl two years later, was anchored by lead single “Taking Back Control.”
