Spoon announce 2017 tour dates

Spoon previously announced that they planned to hit the road this year in support of their new album, Hot Thoughts, out Mar. 17. Today (Feb. 21) they revealed the tour dates for their first outing since 2015. Shows kick off in London on Feb. 27 before moving to the U.S. on March 6 in Santa Ana, CA. Shows wrap up Aug. 9 in Bellvue, CO. Belle & Sebastian, and Andrew Bird will support the band on select dates. Check out the complete list of dates below. Since there’s no date for Chicago and a gap around late July and early August, we can guess Spoon will make an appearance at Lollapalooza. We’ll just have to wait for the official lineup announcement to find out.

Hot Thoughts marks Spoon's first album since 2014’s The Way They Want my Soul. The lead single from the new record, “Hot Thoughts,” is out now. Check out the video above. Last year, they spoke to Entertainment Weekly to preview the new album where it was revealed they worked with producer Dave Fridman. Speaking about their collaboration, frontman Britt Daniel said ““I love working with Dave because he makes a point to f*** things up. I feel like we are on to something—we’re covering some new ground.”

Pre-orders for Hot Thoughts are available now.
