Squarepusher announces 2020 tour dates and new album, 'Be Up a Hello'

British electronic artist Squarepusher, also known as Tom Jenkinson, has announced 2020 spring tour dates around his first album in five years, Be Up a Hello.

The North American portion of the tour kicks off at Boston’s Royale on April 9 (Tickets) and will include stops in Brooklyn (Tickets), Detroit (Tickets), Denver (Tickets) and San Francisco (Tickets). Tickets are on sale now.

Squarepusher’s new album, Be Up a Hello, arrives on January 31 via Warp. It’s the follow up to his 2015 LP Damogen Furies. Jenkinson has shared the first taste from the new album, “Vortrack,” as well as a Fracture remix.

While Be Up a Hello might be Jenkinson’s first new music as Squarepusher in half a decade, the innovative electronic musician wasn’t idle during that time. In 2016, he toured with his Shobaleader One band, a group he had formed to focus more on the live band experience which included Strobe Nazard, Company Laser, and Arg Nution. The collective released an album in 2017 called Elektrac which has a jazz fusion feel.

In 2018, Jenkinson recorded an ambient soundtrack for the BBC owned children’s station CBeebies. The soundtrack featured on the naptime program "Daydreams" narrated by British actor Olivia Coleman.
