Steps return with gloriously campy music video for 'Scared of the Dark'

U.K. pop group Steps premiered the music video for "Scared of the Dark" on April 7. The quintet returns with a new dance routine.

"Scared of the Dark" is the lead single from Steps' upcoming album, Tears on the Dancefloor. The group released the stellar track last month to kick off festivities for Steps' 20th anniversary. While the last comeback single, 2012's "Light Up the World," wasn't so on-brand, "Scared" sees the quintet embrace melodramatic dance music once again. "Dark" hits the mark for Steps.

"Scared of the Dark" is Steps' first live-action music video since 2001's "Chain Reaction." All the camp that made the group's past clips memorable gloriously returns. Claire Richards, Faye Tozer, Lisa Scott-Lee, Ian "H" Watkins and Lee Latchford-Evans make fierce entrances in front of stunning imagery. Steps' niche was that every single had dance moves to go along with it so they get into formation and fight off the dark with a new routine. The members still look flawless 20 years on, including Lee and that gratuitous shot of his abs. Steps come out of the dark and shimmy into the spotlight.

"Scared of the Dark" is now available on iTunes and Apple Music. Steps' Tears on the Dancefloor album will be released on April 21.
