Stephen Glover, known more prominently in the world of slapstick comedy and entertainment as just Steve-O, will be coming through Denver’s Gothic Theatre early next year for a pair of shows on Saturday, Jan. 20.
Announced earlier this week, the two shows titled, "Gnarly (A Live Comedy Taping," will each be professionally shot for his upcoming comedy special. The comedian will look to pull some of the best stand-up jokes from both the early and later evening performances, which each take place at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. that night The upcoming shows will be some of the comedian’s first since undergoing emergency surgery back over the summer after suffering major burns during a rocket fuel stunt for what is presumably the same upcoming comedy special.
It’s that daredevil comedy style of his that launched Steve-O into becoming a vigilante-like hero for unguided teenagers and other hooligans back in the early 2000s as part of the Jackass television series on MTV. The show would continue to grow to the level of popularity where it eventually became a successful Hollywood movie franchise, with Steve-O becoming one of its biggest stars along with Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera. Steve-O would eventually go on to also co-star in a similar show more focused more in the world of weird animals in nature titled Wildboyz from 2003-06. The show also starred former Jackass cast-mate Chris Pontius.
Steve-O has since dialed back his wild lifestyle, but obviously still finds ways to push the boundaries of physical comedy and danger-filled entertainment.
