Storytelling songs written by Chris Young

“Nashville Star” didn’t quite have the longevity of other singing competition shows, since it was canceled after its sixth season. However, any show that can boast finding breakout stars like Miranda Lambert and Chris Young can officially call themselves a successful program. Winner of Season 4 of “Nashville Star,” Young not only showcased his talented voice and musical skills, but also his songwriting ability. “Drinkin’ Me Lonely” was a song he co-wrote and sung on the show, and later it became one of the hit singles on his debut album after winning in 2006.

While other country artists focus on anthem style sing-along songs, Chris Young has had numerous hit singles with lyrics that speak to the soul. From, “The Man I Want To Be” to “Voices,” Young found his niche in storytelling through country music.

With numerous nominations in various award shows, Chris Young won Single of the Year for “Voices” and Artist of the Year: Breakthrough Artist at the 2011 American Country Awards. Young also received the coveted Triple Play Award from the Country Music Association. Taste of Country states, “Triple Play Award [is] a coveted honor reserved for songwriters who have written three No. 1 songs in a 12-month period. The Triple Play Award will recognize Young’s hit songs ‘Voices,’ ‘Tomorrow’ and ‘You.’ Since hitting the airwaves, ‘Voices’ and ‘You’ have achieved certified gold status, and ‘Tomorrow’ has gone platinum.” After three successful albums, Chris Young released A.M. in 2013, and features hit singles like “Aw Naw” and “Who I Am With You.”

In case there aren’t already enough reasons to see Chris Young perform live, he was named Hottest Bachelor in Country Weekly Magazine in the April 2014 edition. Country Weekly Magazine states, “He’s the whole package! Breathtakingly handsome, incredibly talented, rib-ticklingly funny, disarmingly charming, not to mention intelligent, warm, family-oriented, focused and grounded. Heck, what’s not to love about Chris Young?”

The United States Air Force Reserve is the official partner for the Chris Young 2013 Tour, and the Chris Young webpage allows visitors to gift his A.M. album to an active military service member.
