The eight-piece indie rock outfit known as Superorganism is heading out to take over the world this fall. The British band announced their upcoming world tour on Tuesday afternoon, which is scheduled to take the internationally diverse group across North America, the U.K. and parts of Europe throughout the fall months, starting with a gig at the Wonder Ballroom in Portland, Ore. on Aug. 30.
Technically their summer-into-fall touring plans will begin with a scheduled appearance at Chicago’s Lollapalooza in early August. From there the band will head out across the country to play most major cities in the U.S. before starting the U.K. leg of the tour in mid-October. The lengthy run will certainly help give the young band some fantastic global exposure, as they just recently released their self-titled debut via Domino Records early last month. Tickets to select shows on the U.S. leg of the upcoming tour will be going on sale starting this Friday, April 13, and can be purchased by clicking here.
The band also took the opportunity to share their new music video for “Night Time” to go with Tuesday’s announcement. The graphically nostalgic new video can be watched in full above and is basically a fun mashup of intergalactic social media, a colorful psychedelic trip and 1980s video game graphics. Perhaps the themes of bike riding and sci-fi abductions are a subtly pulled page from the “Stranger Things” playbook? Only time and Reddit conspiracy theories will have a say in that argument.
Regardless of whether or not you’re into weirdly fun music videos, it’s tough to find things to dislike about the band, who collectively live together in London after recruiting a handful of its members from countries around the world. As the buzz for Superorganism within the indie world continues to grow, so should their creative abilities to pump out some really cool and original music video ideas.
