SZA has added a new concert to her current North American tour schedule, with an upcoming gig at The Novo in Los Angeles next Tuesday, Nov. 14. Announced on Wednesday afternoon, tickets for the show will be going on sale starting Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. local time, and can be purchased by clicking here.
SZA’s North American tour kicked off back in mid-August in promotion of her debut CTRL album, and is currently on a break until Dec. 8 when it picks up again at The NorVa in Norfolk, VA. The first 37 shows on her summer-into-fall run saw the singer-songwriter playing to numerous sold out venues across the U.S. and Canada. It’s worth mentioning that the last time SZA performed at the downtown Los Angeles venue in late September, she was joined on stage by her Top Dawg label-mate in Kendrick Lamar, so fans should be on the lookout for another special guest appearance again this time around.
The young R&B artist has been taking advantage of her much-needed time off from the lengthy tour. She stopped by The Tonight Show studio in New York City this past Wednesday to join Maroon 5 in performing their new collaborative single, “What Lovers Do.” The song was part of the pop-rock band’s new album, Red Pill Blues, which was released two days later.
While CTRL has certainly been the breakout record that SZA and her label were hoping for, apparently she’s already begun working on the next one. In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, SZA revealed that she’s already started working on some song ideas with Mark Ronson and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker. The two DJs/producers haven’t commented on how exactly they’re working with the young singer, but with her name quickly growing as one of the brightest in a new generation of pop stars, one can only imagine that their collaboration(s) will be pretty epic.
