Grammy Award-winning Auto-Tune singer extraordinaire T-Pain will bring his intimate acoustic tour, inspired by his NPR “Tiny Desk Concert” performance, to The Sinclair at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25 with special guest Smino.
T-Pain is touring in advance of his forthcoming fifth solo studio long-player, Oblivion. The album, which is set for release on Nov. 17, was preceded by the single “Goal Line.”
Revolver, the recording artist’’s most recent LP, emerged in December 2011 through Konvict Muzik and RCA Records. Spawning three singles (“Best Love Song,” “5 O’Clock,” and “Turn All the Lights On”), the album landed at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 28 on the Billboard 200.
Epiphany, T-Pain’s sophomore full-length, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. The album debuted at No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts following its June 2007 release via T-Pain’s own imprint Nappy Boy Entertainment, which is distributed by Akron’s Kovict Muzik and Jive Records. Epiphany gave birth to three singles: “Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin’)” featuring Yung Joc, “Bartender” featuring Akon, and “Church.”
Smino, a.k.a. rapper Christopher Smith Jr., released his debut album, blkswn, back in March through Downtown Records. The album gave birth to three singles: “blkswn,” “Anita,” and “Netflix & Dusse.” It features guest appearances from Ravyn Lenae, Drea Smith, Noname, and more.
