Over the weekend, three-time Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson performed for her first annual Miracle On Broadway charity show. For the event she brought in friends in the country world including Reba, Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks and Kacey Musgraves. Clarkson also got together with guitarist Aben Eubanks, assistant and wife of Aben Ashley Arrison as well as country hit songwriter Shane McAnally. The longtime friends co-wrote the latest song released from Clarkson's holiday album Wrapped In Red. Team KC put a stunning spin on title track "Wrapped In Red" she calls bluebird style on her non-Vevo account on YouTube
It wouldn't be a Kelly Clarkson event if there wasn't something that didn't go as planned. Singing in a round side by side with a flat mic, they all began harmonizing but something just wasn't right. Kelly seemed to think it was a problem with her in-ear monitors. Ashley even adjusted hers. It was then that Kelly realized the mic had been turned in the opposite direction.
"It helps if you turn the mic around! It was a mystery the part," she giggled singing on. "Mysterrrryy (sic)" she stressed and started over.
"I was so scared for us!"
After some cheers and more laughs, Aben began strumming his guitar and Kelly took the lead. Ashley, Aben and Shane join in on harmonies of ooos while Kelly did what she does best--belting it like no one's business. "I'm gonna risk it all," she sings of being in love during the holiday while they held onto each other. Kelly was on top of her game with strong solid vocals. She's largely been away from the stage until October and she's warmed back up to the normal powerhouse she can be. Team KC always comes up with new ways to change songs up and often for the better.
Kelly Clarkson's charity event raised $400,000 for four different charities she supports which is why we love her, for not only her explosive voice but her heart of gold.
