The Beach Boys announce new rarities set 'Sunshine Tomorrow'

Beach Boys fans can look forward to the summer release of a brand new 60's era rarities set. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have dug into the archives to put together 1967 – Sunshine Tomorrow, which will hit shelves on June 30 via Capitol/UMe.

The “Good Vibrations” hitmakers unveiled the news on May 23 via a media release posted at PR News. The 2-CD set will feature a first-ever stereo mix of the pioneering surf-rocker's 1967 album Wild Honey along with the archival release of 54 rarities.

Other highlights include the release of a previously shelved live album Lei'd in Hawaii. Also included are a selection of live concert recordings from 1967 – 1970 plus studio outtakes and demos from their two 1967 studio albums Wild Honey and Smiley Smile studio sessions, which followed their infamously scrapped post-Pet Sounds follow up attempt Smile.

"Just prior to that, Brian (Wilson) had built up this production peak and then just completely reversed field," writes Beach Boys frontman Mike Love. "For Smiley Smile he did something so light and airy, and y' know, easy.”

"Times were changing," writes former Beach Boys guitarist and vocalist Al Jardine. "We were happy to put our musical skills to work. We didn't have to look at the clock; there was virtually 24-hour availability to experiment."

Featuring 65 tracks overall, “Sunshine Tomorrow” is available for pre-order here in both a 2-CD and digital formats. The new stereo edition of Wild Honey can also pre-ordered separately here in a special 50th anniversary 180- gram vinyl edition. See below the full track listing.

The Beach Boys are currently on a tour in Europe with their 50 Years of Good Vibrations Tour. The spring romp continues on May 24, in Scarborough, U.K., at Scarborough Open Air Theatre and will wrap up June 27 in Rome at Auditorium Parco della Musica.

The multi-platinum sellers will then head back to the U.S. for a second 2017 North American tour leg. The fun begins on June 30 in New Buffalo, Michigan, at Four Winds Casino and wraps up Nov. 14 in  Schenectady, New York, at Proctors.

Tickets for select Beach Boys events are available at AXS. For all the latest information on The Beach Boys, click here.
