Critically acclaimed alternative rockers The Breeders are back with a bang. The group has just released their new single, "Wait in the Car," their first release since 2009's Fate to Fatal EP. Listen to the new song and its accompanying video above.

"Wait in the Car" is the latest project from the band, who reunited in 2013 for a 20th-anniversary tour of their 1993 record, Last Splash. They'll head out on a subsequent tour this fall of Europe and the U.S. between October and November. Check out the complete list of tour dates, which includes a one-off show with Arcade Fire, here

The new single will be released on three different seven-inch variants, each limited to 1,500 copies. The first will drop on Oct. 15 and also feature a cover of the Amon Düül II song, "Archangel's Thunderbird." The second seven-inch has an Oct. 27 release date and showcases a Devo cover of "Gates of Steel." No release date has been confirmed for the third variant, though it will feature a cover of "Joanne" by Michael Nesmith.

The Breeders formed in 1989 as a side project of Pixies bassist Kim Deal and Throwing Muses guitarist Tanya Donnelly. They have released four albums to date, with Mountain Battles serving as the latest in 2008.
