The Colorado Blizzard is the first team in the new M2 Arena Soccer League

This December, a Blizzard will be hitting Denver. Hopefully the weather cooperates.

On Sep. 26, Major Arena Soccer League officially announced a long-rumored second division, the MASL2 or M2, and revealed the first team to join the M2, the Colorado Blizzard. The Blizzard make the leap to the M2 after playing in the Premier Arena Soccer League since 2010.

“We are pleased to announce the latest piece to our expansion plans, and our first team, the Colorado Blizzard,” Kevin Milliken, who is overseeing the M2 league for the MASL, said in a press conference announcing the new team and league.

Previously based out of Colorado Springs, the Blizzard will relocate down I-25 to the Denver Coliseum for the upcoming year. Although the full league has yet to be announced -- the Chicago Mustangs are the only other team officially signed up for the M2 -- teams will play a 12-game regular season schedule.

The Blizzard have already announced their home dates for the 2017-18 season. The team’s first home game will take place on Dec. 16, while their final regular season game of the year is slated for Feb. 17.

Single game and season tickets to the Blizzard go on sale at 10am on Thursday, Oct. 5. Check out the Blizzard’s home schedule below, watch the M2 announcement above and keep it on AXS.com for more Arena Soccer news and tickets.
