TheGRAMMYMuseum — YouTube

The GRAMMY Museum is a must for any music fan looking to explore the history and culture of music in America.

Alongside interactive and informative displays and exhibits that come with a daily admission ticket, the museum also opens its doors to special events that bring artists of the craft into the spotlight. This month will see intimate conversations with artists like Melvin WilliamsLindsey Buckingham, Christine McVieAvenged Sevenfold, Sean "Diddy" Combs and more. Check out the full list of events below.

In addition to October's special events, the month will see the opening of a new exhibit, "X: 40 Years of Punk in Los Angeles" on the museum's second floor Exhibit Gallery, Oct. 13. This exhibit will last until March 2018 and take attendees through the journey of LA's most influential first wave punk rock bands and the lives of members Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Billy Zoom, and DJ Bonebrake.

"This exhibit will place a much-deserved spotlight on the history of punk music in Los Angeles and one of the bands who played a vital role on the genre's impact on Southern California," GRAMMY Museum Curator Nwaka Onwusa said on the site. "Visitors will get a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the development of X's career and how, after 40 years, they remain one of the few bands to continue to tour with all four original members."

Items on display will include original instruments from the band, handwritten lyrics and notebooks by Exene Cervenka and John Doe, clothing, rare photography and so much more. Attendees can tour the exhibit as part of daily admission, but the band will be onsite during the exhibit's opening day for a special evening to celebrate all things punk, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. (click here for tickets).

So whether you're an L.A. resident or just stopping through the City of Angels this October, be sure to add a visit to The GRAMMY Museum to your to do list and check out one (or more) of this month's special events.
