The musical collective known as The Internet has revealed the first batch of highly anticipated North American concert dates in promotion of their recently released studio album, Hive Mind. Announced on Wednesday morning, the band’s upcoming run of shows will start in early October with five arena gigs opening up for Gorillaz on their fall tour, in addition to their appearance at Atlanta’s Afropunk Festival. Their own run of headlining dates will start a few nights later at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis on Oct. 17 and continues throughout the fall and into early winter before coming to an end on Dec. 12 in Detroit.

The tour will take the group throughout most major U.S. and Canadian cities, with notable scheduled stops at venues like Seattle’s Showbox SoDo (Oct. 26) and Richmond’s The National (Dec. 1) just to name a few. The upcoming run will give the talented group a chance to really work out some of the new songs featured on Hive Mind in front of their fans in a live setting. The upcoming run will also be the group’s first shows in the U.S. since March of last year.

The members of The Internet continue to push their smoothly fun and experimental pop styles that have come to define their place within today’s mainstream scene. Their mix of hip-hop, soul, R&B, psych-funk and rock has provided them with a solid foundation to freely experiment with different types of creative notation for which very few artists today are given. That was once again evident on the 13-track Hive Mind, which arrived just a few weeks ago back on June 20. Pitchfork’s review of the album said that their fourth studio album “is a peak example of their combined powers. It simplifies their sound with soft-focus blues, plush arrangements, and deep-in-the-ground grooves.”

Fans can see the full schedule of upcoming concert dates from the band below. Tickets for select shows on their tour will be going on sale starting this Friday (Aug. 10) at 10 a.m. local time and can be purchased by clicking here.
