British rock trio The Joy Formidable have shared an epic new single titled “Dance of the Lotus.” The hard-hitting rock song was announced by the band on Monday morning, and appears to be the lead track off their next studio album. The band is giving fans a free download of “Dance of the Lotus” by signing up to their email list, and can be partially heard in the short promotional clip (above) shared to their website on Monday.

The new song launches the band back into the rock realm with a cryptic guitar opening and powerful chord structures and vocal lines heard throughout. The arrival of “Dance of the Lotus” also came with some updated artwork featured on the band’s social media outlets, including a colorfully cosmic photo of the band that could easily be the cover for their upcoming album. The band’s last studio project came back in 2016 with the seven-song Sleep Is Day EP.

In addition to sharing the new single, the trio also revealed “the first leg of [their] worldwide tour” on their website, which begins with a show in Las Vegas on June 16. The 24-date run will see the band performing across Europe and the U.K. come June and August, before heading over to North America starting in mid-October. The Canadian and U.S. batch of shows features scheduled stops at Kansas City’s recordBar, Boston’s The Sinclair and New York City’s Music Hall of Williamsburg before the tour comes to an end on Nov. 10 in Washington, DC.

Tickets for select shows on the band’s upcoming summer and fall run go on sale this Friday (May 18) at 10 a.m. local time, and can be purchased by clicking here.
