The Motet promise musical mayhem on fall tour with Dopapod
YouTube/Second Story Garage

The Motet is one of the few bands today that is keeping the funk alive.

In an age of uncertainty and fear, we need funk music more than ever. Funk was the sound that relaxed tensions in America in the ‘70s and also called out the social injustices that often plague us even today in their own ways.

There should be a space carved out just for The Motets in today’s music industry. Formed in 1998 in Denver by Dave Watts (drummer, bandleader), the seven-piece band has helped keep alive a sound that is equally funky and arresting.

What adds to The Motets’ great appeal is how the band marries their brand of funk with nibbles of rock, jazz, and Afro-beats, which creates a sound that ears crave and devour. So it was music to our ears when we heard that The Motets were bringing their “music mayhem” on the road this fall.

Joining this glorious musical arrangement is Dopapod, who will bring their own brand of musical craziness to the tour, in a good way. This is a duo that you don’t want to miss in person, and fortunately for you, we have the complete show list and tickets to their Nov. 15 performance that you can purchase below.
