Indie band The National is promising fans not just concerts but "unique events" happening around the world this spring as they head out to play their first shows of 2019.
"A Special Evening With the National" will be held in Paris, London, Toronto, New York and Los Angeles in venues smaller than what the band typically plays. Tickets for the New York and Los Angeles show are on sale now right here on AXS, with $1 from each ticket sold going to charity.
While their most recent album, Sleep Well Beast, was released in 2017, new music is reportedly on the way, as the band has finished recording and mixing their eighth full-length album. Fans have already been treated to snippets of it, with new songs making their way into recent live sets. The National is also taking a look back at their career on the upcoming podcast "Coffee & Flowers," which will dissect their breakthrough album Boxer with commentary from frontman Matt Berninger, songwriter Aaron Dessner, producer Peter Katis and more.
The National's special evening shows are as follows:
April 16 - L'Olympia - Paris
April 18 - Royal Festival Hall - London
April 22 - Beacon Theatre - New York, NY (Tickets)
April 24 - Roy Thomson Hall - Ontario
April 26 - Orpheum Theater - Los Angeles, CA (Tickets)
