'The Princess Bride' star Cary Elwes to discuss iconic film at series of live shows

What’s that you say? You would like to see actor Cary Elwes discuss the iconic William Goldman penned, Rob Reiner directed 1987 film “The Princess Bride.” As you wish. Elwes will be embarking on a short tour where he will be discussing the classic cult film. The five-date tour gets sets sail May 13 in Boston before hitting Royal Oak Music Theatre near Detroit; Tennessee Performing Arts Center Andrew Jackson Hall in Nashville; the Majestic Theatre in Dallas; and wraps up in North Bethesda, Maryland on Sept. 16. Elwes of course played the dashing Westley, the notorious Dread Pirate Roberts and the mysterious Man in Black. In 2015, the actor wrote a book on his experiences making the film titled “As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales From the Making of The Princess Bride.” This tour is likely to include a number of anecdotes from the book and is titled “The Princess Bride: An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes.” Just watch out for the screeching eels.
