The Smashing Pumpkins were one of the top bands during the '90s grunge era but haven't done much over the last 18 years. During that time, they released three studio albums and a concept music project called Teargarden by Kaleidyscope. However, back in 2016, original guitarist James Iha rejoined the band for a surprise performance and this July most of the original members of the band will head out on tour together.

On Sept. 2, The Smashing Pumpkins will be playing in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena and AXS has tickets available for this huge concert event. The opening band for this Las Vegas show will be Metric.

The tour is the Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour and includes lead singer Billy Corgan, who will take a break from running the professional wrestling promotion he purchased, the NWA. Joining him are founding members, drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and guitarist James Iha. This is the first time the three will play together since 2000. Jeff Schroeder, who joined the band in 2007, will play bass.

Corgan has promised two new EPs from The Smashing Pumpkins this year, but the first was rumored for May and never arrived. However, on June 8, the band released a new single called "Solora," with the three founding members all performing on the track.

Tickets for The Smashing Pumpkins Las Vegas concert are on sale now at AXS (buy tickets here). Prices for the Sept. 2 show at the T-Mobile Arena range from $36 up to $168.
