Members of the Colorado-based jamgrass band The String Cheese Incident--Jason Hann (percussion) and Michael Kang (mandolin, fiddle)--recently teamed up with Los Angeles electronic trio TELYKast and singer-songwriter Ruby Chase for an eclectic blending of minds on their new collaborative single “Otherside.”

The single embodies the spirit of SCI’s new Colorado studio called The Lab--where the track was partially recorded--a place where members of the band seek to experiment with different artists and genres. The new single is part of SCI’s ongoing SCI Sound Lab Series. You can listen to “Otherside” in the video above.

Also a part of the Sound Lab Series, SCI released a second single titled "Vertigo." Penned by SCI guitar player Billy Nershi, the second single is more of a traditional SCI rocker and is about Billy’s experience seeing the 2017 solar eclipse.

"I was getting ready to go to the Solar Eclipse Festival last year. I looked at the sun through a newly acquired pair of sunoculars. Half an hour later everything started spinning. This is the song about my experience since then," Nershi said in a statement. You can listen to "Vertigo" in the video below.

There’s a good chance SCI will bust out both new songs when they return to Red Rocks Amphitheatre July 20-22. You can find tickets on AXS by clicking here.
