The Weeknd's 'Starboy' tracks all debut on Hot 100 songs chart

It was all but certain that The Weeknd's latest album Starboy would debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and it did indeed moving 348,000 units total with 209,000 in actual sales. The album was heavily promoted on high-profile appearances on television including the MTV European Music Awards leading up the release date on Nov. 25 (Nov. 28 in physical format). It became the third largest debut behind Drake's Views From the 6 and Beyoncé's Lemonade in both sales and equivalent units. As the album debuted at No. 1 on the albums chart, all 18 of the album's tracks also appear on the Hot 100 songs chart.

Lead single "Starboy" returned to its No. 2 peak for a sixth week as the rest of the album's tracks either rose or debuted on the songs chart. Being held off from reaching the peak position by Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles," "Starboy" moved up on two of the three component charts that make up the Hot 100. On Radio Songs, the track remains at No. 2 having 125 million impressions across an all-genre format in the United States.

On Digital Songs, it does lose 28 percent in activity but rises from No. 3 to No. 2 having sold 53,000 downloads as compared to the No. 1 "Beatles" that moved 83,000 copies. It also climbs to No. 2 on Streaming Songs just behind "Beatles" receiving 33.4 million hits through official platforms such as YouTube and Spotify. That number is up 18 percent for the previous tracking week.

All 18 of the songs charting on the Hot 100 is mostly due to streaming the media from the album which also contributes to the overall 348,000 album units. It's the second most entries at one time on the Hot 100 following Drake. 20 songs from Views From the 6 charted simultaneously in May 2016 and he did it again in June when 18 songs would be on the tally. Second single "I Feel It Coming" reaches No. 22 on the Hot 100 while debuting at No. 33 on the Pop Songs chart (also known as Mainstream Top 40).
