Following the announcement earlier this week of his Clearwater show, The Who's infamous frontman Roger Daltrey has added one more Florida date to his solo tour this fall. This new addition will bring him to northern Florida, where he will play St. Augustine. The veteran rocker is slated to tear through St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Nov. 3, with special guest Edgar Winter coming along for the ride. Tickets for the evening will go on sale next Friday, Sept. 8, at 10 am local time -- and you can get them right here on AXS.
The St. Augustine show will bring the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame frontman in close proximity to Jacksonville, making a special treat for north Florida fans who don't always find themselves on the tour roster of major acts. The Who themselves have spent much of this year on tour, with surviving founding members Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend, alongside a touring band that the two have cultivated. For his fall solo dates, Daltrey is claiming to be bringing "members of The Who" to play alongside him, although which members he is referring to is yet to be announced.
While Daltrey and The Who need no introduction, opening act Edgar Winter should also prove a delight to fans who are coming out to the St. Augustine date. Winter is known for being a talented multi-instrumentalist, and as a fellow rock veteran has been playing since 1969. Winter will be able to provide fans with a wide selection of tracks from his blues-rock influenced catalog, including recognizable hits like "Free Ride" and "Frankenstein."
