“The X Factor UK” aired the explosive season 15 finale last night (Dec. 3) in the U.S. on AXS TV. After weeks of grueling competition, a new winner was crowned. The three remaining finalists Anthony Russell, Scarlett Lee and Dalton Harris performed new songs and new duets. Judges Simon Cowell, Louis Tomlinson, Robbie Williams and Ayda Williams gave their final remarks for the season and more celebrity guest performers including Ellie Goulding, Leona Lewis, Nile Rodgers & Chic, James Arthur and Take That lit up the stage at SSE Arena, Wembley.

Here’s a look at our picks for the Top 5 moments from “The X Factor UK” season 15 finale.

5. “Baby Sharks” Show Opener by New Show “Boss”
Simon told host Dermot O’Leary at the start of the show there’s a new “boss” at Syco. A super cute clip rolled in which label execs went into “Mr. Cowell’s” office and asked how he wanted to open the show. When the desk chair swiveled around, Simon’s son, Eric (clad in a mini-me white shirt) raised his arms and yelled, “Let’s get Baby Sharks!”

A swarm of “sharks” hit the stage along with kids who sang the wildly-popular children’s song. Eric sat on his dad’s knee for the performance and the Simon told Dermot, it was Eric’s “first release on SyKids Records.” Something about the whole thing was so sweet. It felt like we were getting a flash forward to the next music mogul (assuming young Eric wants to follow in his daddy’s legendary footsteps).

4. Nile Rodgers & Chic – Music Medley
Legendary producer Nile Rodgers brought a breath of fresh air to “The X Factor UK” this season. He was an incredible guest mentor to the Groups team when Robbie was away on a gig. He’s worked with so many huge artists and he gave so much wonderful, wise feedback to all the hopefuls this season and he seemed to really be invested in their journeys – and potential future success. We’ll never forget him crying during Brendan Murray’s Judges’ Houses performance.

Niles rocked his guitar front and center, along with Chic and they sang a hot medley of hits including “Le Freak” and “Good Times.” They had the audience dancing, swaying and clapping to the beat throughout the performance. And, they kicked it up a notch bringing Top 10 finalists Acacia and Aaliyah and Misunderstood out to perform with them. It was fantastic!

3. Leona Lewis and Scarlett Lee “One More Sleep” Duet
It’s hard to imagine what it would feel like to perform on stage in front of thousands of people with one of your music idols. Scarlett had a dream come true when she performed “One More Sleep” with Leona Lewis. Scarlett is a truly talented vocalist with what appears to be a gigantic heart. She and Leona’s voices blended beautifully in the performance. They both looked lovely, also, wearing matching silver gowns.

2. Take That Set – with Robbie Williams
It bears repeating that Robbie Williams has been an absolute joy to watch on the judging panel this season. Take That is on top of the world right now, having just scored the fastest-selling album in the UK for 2018 with their new album, Odyssey. Take That performed “Shine” before Robbie joined them on stage to perform “Everything Changes.” The audience went wild with screams and applause to see the “Angels” singer reunite with his former bandmates. The performance was upbeat and energetic, and Robbie even serenaded a swooning Ayda during part of the song. It was an undeniably epic moment for Take That fans who have been longing for Robbie to perform with them again.

1. Dalton Harris and James Arthur Winner’s Single “Power of Love”
Dalton Harris and James Arthur performed the season 15 “X Factor UK” winner’s single “Power of Love” twice. Once while the voting was still open and again after Dalton Harris was crowned the season 15 “X Factor UK” winner. Dalton’s performances were flawless throughout the competition. He was repeatedly branded a star by all members of the judging panel and he received all kinds of celebrity praise from Nile Rodgers, Ellie Goulding, James Arthur and more.

“The Power of Love” is a beautiful ballad which fits Dalton’s smoldering R & B sound beautifully. The combination of James’s power and Dalton’s soul is stunning. Their encore performance after Dalton is crowned the winner carried even more emotional weight and earns our pick for the No. 1 best performance of “The X Factor UK” season 15 finale.
