The brass-based dance trio known as Too Many Zooz are headed out across North America this fall on their own headlining run under the banner, A Pug In A Tub Tour. The month-long trek was announced early last month, and is set to begin on Sept. 22 in Ferndale, Michigan and runs until Oct. 24 with a show at New Orleans’ One-Eyed Jack’s. They’re also set to appear at Florida’s Suwanee Hulaween Festival in late October a well.

The upcoming tour includes scheduled stops at venues like Denver’s Bluebird Theater, Portland’s Wonder Ballroom and Phoenix’s Crescent Ballroom, just to name a few. Tickets for select shows on the upcoming tour are on sale now and can be purchased by clicking here.

The upcoming concert run will continue to raise the stock of the New York City band, which formed just a few years ago and pushes horn/brass based instrumentation into new frontiers, mixing traditional funk elements with modern dance and electro-house styles. Similar to brass-based acts like Trombone Shorty or The Soul Rebels, who all continue to push the boundaries of what is historically a harsh and often sonically intimidating genre, artists like Too Many Zooz have also found a way to mix old school with contemporary pop to develop their own unique sound and fanbase.

The band’s last studio release came back in 2016 with the 14-track Subway Gawdz. The album featured appearances by artists ranging from Armani White to well-known gospel/jazz pianist and Galactic collaborator, Corey Henry. The release was certainly a marking point for the band, who began their journey by taking to the New York City subway platforms, where the tens-of-thousands of metro commuters would hear their brilliant mix of horny dance music. A video of the band performing at one of the city’s busy subway stations can be watched in full above.
