Tool has expanded its 2019 road schedule with a U.S. spring tour. The three-time Grammy winner has added a string of headline dates, scattered amid a number of previously announced spring festival appearances.
The Los Angeles prog-rockers dropped the news on March 11 via Twitter. The tour will be in support of Tool's as-yet-untitled 5th studio album and will keep the band in the U.S. through mid-May prior to heading overseas for a 2019 summer tour of Europe.
The spring romp begins with a headline appearance on May 5 in Jacksonville, FL, at Welcome to Rockville. Frontman Maynard James Keenan and company will make a number of big city stops with visits to St. Louis, as well as a big show on May 14 in Kansas City, MO, at Sprint Center, before wrapping up May 19 in Bridgeville, IL, at Chicago Open Air.
Tickets for festival dates in Jacksonville, Concord and Bridgeville are on sale now. Tickets for the balance of the dates will go on sale to the public starting Friday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m. local time. For more details, click here.
Last week, Tool posted a photo of itself and engineer Bob Ludwig in the studio, working on the highly anticipated follow up to its 2006 studio album 10,000 Days. The band has been on hiatus since its last show on May 23, 2018, in Philadelphia while lead singer Keenan spent the balance of the year working with his supergroup A Perfect Circle.
Follow the U.S. spring run, Tool will kick off a tour of Europe, which launches June 2 in Berlin at Mercedes-Benz Arena and will wrap up July 2 in Lisbon at Altice Arena. Grab your tickets to see Tool right here at AXS.
