One vital way to hear new music in this digital age is by watching music videos. According to the press release sent out today, in 2016 on the platform VEVO, music videos had 20 billion worldwide views a month. The leader of the pack in most watched music videos for the year is none other than pop singer Justin Bieber. Three of his videos made the top 10 when it came to most watched music videos in 2016.

The most popular music video in 2016 on VEVO was Justin Bieber's "Sorry (PURPOSE : The Movement)." Worldwide it was watched over 1.8 billion times. In the U.S. it was watched over 210 million times. Not only was it the most watched in the U.S., but also the  U.K.

The second most watched music video in 2016 was Adele's "Hello." Worldwide it was viewed over 1.2 billion times. Rounding out the top 5 is Fifth Harmony's "Work from Home," Calvin Harris' "This Is What You Came For" featuring Rihanna, and Justin Bieber's "What Do You Mean?."

Some of the most watched videos in the U.S. this year did not make the worldwide chart. That includes "The Weeknd's "The Hills," Future's "Low Life," and Silentó's "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)." All three of those music videos made the top 10 when it came to the most watched music videos in the U.S., but did not crack the top 10 worldwide chart.

The numbers below are only for views on VEVO. It does not include views on each artists VEVO YouTube channel. If you were to combine those two, the number of times each video was watched would more than double.
