While some could say the top performer of day two was the duo of lightning and rain that cleared out the entire venue, there were actually much more moving and engaging acts earlier in the day that didn’t put anyone’s well-being at risk. While big names stunned as usual and had crowds singing every word, the next from Nashville talent proved they’re well on their way to main stage. With an honorable mention to Brad Paisley who was set to headline day two, interrupted by the lightning, but will make a triumphant return to day three for fans.

Easton Corbin is a force on stage. Fans were lined up and packed into the crowd waiting to catch a glimpse of the country favorite. His genuine smile and attention to the audience proved that he’s happy to be there, giving his fans a caliber of show he feels they deserve. This was another performance where the audience could be heard screaming his lyrics right along with him. Each song built momentum for his set that continued to grow as Corbin worked the entire stage and ran through crowd favorites as they await the release of his next album, About To Get Real. He’s just as excited about it as his engaging presence showed he’s proud of the material he’s been crafting and equally excited to share it with the world.

Joe Nichols is a show fans go into with hopes and he more than delivers. If you were to ask anyone in the crowd if Joe Nichols put on a good show, the answer would be an overwhelmingly enthusiastic “yes”. The crowd participating and holding on to every song and movement of Nichols gave it away, while he definitely gave the crowd something to be excited about. He’s no stranger to making hits, but clearly has a lot more to say as an artist as he doesn’t rest on his previous chart toppers to make it through a set. He’s a musician that takes his art very seriously and is always striving to further his sound and it makes for a great show when passion like his is a driving force in a performance.

Haley and Michaels were an across the board favorite of day two. As crowds and fans continued to talk about their performance that made an impression and stuck with them throughout the day. With a powerful set full of rich harmonies and beautifully crafted lyrics, they are quite the impressive duo. This group that’s catching fire quickly with their new single “Giving it All (To You)”, shows that humble roots are lifelong. Besides being married, their sound is an equal combination of powerful and harmonic.

To be honest, Joey Hyde had us at the Ryan Adams t-shirt. Fashion aside, it’s always refreshing to hear someone who has his or her own take on the country genre. His guitar heavy sound is just what the crowd craves and more and more people were drawn toward the stage. He’s certainly the perfect combination of loud and fun and it’s easy to see that Hyde has been a musician practically his entire life. He knows his way around every instrument on stage as well as being a songwriter, which makes him an extremely well rounded artist and makes us excited to hear his debut album.

Although Seth Alley might not be a household country name yet, his label, Big Machine Records, is.  It’s easy to see why a big name grabbed the opportunity to work with and develop Alley while they can. His vocals are like a well-tuned classical instrument. He’s one of the most impressive artists to grace that stage and it’s clear he won’t be spending much time away from main stage for long. Everything from his stellar vocals, to commanding stage presence is the definition of up and coming. Along with his humble nature that showed he’s happy to be performing on any stage and clearly enjoys his work. Country fans should keep an eye on Alley and watch the journey from next from Nashville as his career speeds ahead and takes off.
