Summer is on the way, and we know you're looking for music to listen to while you're on your vacations, road trips and adventures. Look no further than our list of the top ten bands you should be listening to in the summertime.

Hootie and the Blowfish: It's impossible to be anything but happy when listening to Hootie and the Blowfish. The band gave us a plethora of upbeat, easy to sing along with hits like "Only Wanna Be With You," the video for which (included above) is a perfect summertime watch. Their songs put plenty of bounce into your playlist.

Imagine Dragons: Whether it's a fist-pumping anthem like "I Bet My Life" or something more relaxed like "On Top of the World," Imagine Dragons are always full of energy and always getting a hook stuck in your brain.

Maroon 5: The Los Angeles-based band just put out a song specifically for summer, "This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like A Motherf---er," so that alone gets them a spot on our list. We also would've accepted any of their catchy hits, like "Sugar," "Payphone" or "Misery." Some of the titles might be depressing, but the music definitely isn't.

Sugar Ray: There must be some unwritten rule that "Every Morning" and/or "When It's Over" are played at every summertime event. So why not include them on your playlist too, and enjoy a nice throwback to the 1990's while you're on the beach?

Smash Mouth: The band's "Walking on the Sun" is a solid addition to any summer jam session, and has a video themed for the season as well. Everyone knows the words to that and their other hits "All-Star" and "When The Morning Comes," so playing them will probably start a fun sing-along in your car.

Barenaked Ladies: "Odds Are," "One Week," and "Pinch Me" are among the many incredibly addictive songs turned out by this Canadian band who seem to specialize in high-energy, irreverent music.

Simple Plan: Another band that always seems to be on the go with a wink and a smile, they gave us "Jet Lag," "Welcome to My Life" and our favorite, "Summer Paradise."

Train: Pick "50 Ways to Say Goodbye" or "Save Me, San Francisco" for a little extra buzz, and then try to see if you can keep up with the speed of the lyrics.

Marianas Trench: Their harmonies remind us of the Beach Boys, and their songs like "Here's to the Zeros" have just the right amount of attitude. The result is a healthy medium between classic and modern pop.

OneRepublic: One of the most reliable bands in the business, they've given us "Good Life," which should be played when something awesome happens for you this summer.
