Toronto’s Mod Club Theatre will host We The Kings 10 year anniversary tour on Tuesday, Feb. 28. Also on the bill, which is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m., are special guests Cute Is What We Aim For, Plaid Brixx, and Astro Lasso.
We The Kings are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their self-titled debut studio album. The album, released in October 2007 through S-Curve Records, charted at No. 151 on the Billboard 200. It includes the hit singles “Check Yes Juliet” and “Secret Valentine.”
The five-piece, which currently features Travis Clark (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Hunter Thomsen (guitar, vocals), Danny Duncan (drums, percussion), Charles Trippy (bass), and Coley O’Toole (keyboards, vocals, guitar), independently released their fifth full-length, Strange Love, in November 2015 through Ozone Entertainment. The album, which reached No. 137 on the Billboard 200, includes the singles “Love Again” and “Runaway.”
Buffalo’s own Cute Is What We Aim For will serve as direct support. The rock band has released two LPs: The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch and Rotation. Cute Is What We Aim For is best known for 2007 pop punk hit "The Curse of Curves.”
Also on the bill is Plaid Brixx, an indie pop band from Columbus, Ohio. The trio put out there sophomore EP in July 2016 and it includes lead single, “The Greener Side.”
Pennsylvania’s Astro Lasso will open the show. The high energy indie pop duo features Jordan Davis and Tristan Martin.
