Twenty One Pilots announce new album, massive world tour

“What is Twenty One Pilots up to?” may have been the main question on fans’ minds over the course of the last few days when the group started posting cryptic messages. It all started when the duo changed their logo's color scheme. The Blurryface blue, red, and gray color scheme was gone and replaced by a yellow and black version. Then, random posters with the new logo began to appear in random locations. Finally, things came to a head when the group posted a short, cryptic video on social media with an eye-opening and some audio playing in the background.

Well, now it looks like fans finally got what they have been patiently waiting for; an answer. On Wednesday (July 11), the Ohio-founded act confirmed the release of their fifth studio album. Titled Trench, the new record is due out Oct. 5 through Fueled By Ramen.

In conjunction with the new album announcement, the duo released a pair of new songs; the album's lead single “Jumpsuit" and a second track titled "Nico and the Niners." While "Nico and the Niners" is currently available for streaming here, the five-minute music video for "Jumpsuit" can be seen above.

Trench is the follow-up to Twenty One Pilots' Grammy-award winning album, 2015's Blurryface.

As if a new album and two new songs weren’t enough, the band also announced plans to hit the road later this year. In support of Trench, the two-piece will embark on a massive excursion which will find them touring and performing around the world during the final months of 2018 and the early months of 2019. Dubbed the Bandito tour, the trek will begin on Oct. 16 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and conclude five months later on March 17, 2019, at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal.

Fans who would like to obtain early access to tickets are encouraged to register on the band’s website here. Those who qualify will hear back from the band on Monday, July 16. Tickets for those verified fans will go on sale beginning next Tuesday, July 17, at 10 a.m. local time. The complete Bandito tour itinerary can be seen below.
