Tyler Childers announces 2018 North American winter tour

2017 has been a pretty exciting breakout year for country guitarist and singer Tyler Childers. The singer-songwriter from Kentucky released his debut album, Purgatory, back in August, which was produced by country hotshot Sturgill Simpson. Childers will now be carrying the party over into 2018, with a run of North American tour dates announced on Wednesday that will keep him busy until next spring.

The newly announced run of 2017 tour dates will start on Feb. 20 at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg. The two-week tour will see Childers performing across the northeast U.S. and Canada with a final show on March 4 in Toronto. The winter tour should make for the perfect batch of warmup shows, gearing up for his performance at Goldenvoice’s Stagecoach Festival in Indio, CA in late April.

Childers is currently touring across the North America until the end of the year. Most of the concerts on his November and December schedule are sold out, leading up to his New Year’s Eve show at The Fillmore in Charlotte. He’ll then spend the first few weeks of the new year performing over in Europe before returning stateside for his North American winter dates.

Even though he’s considered more of a country artist by today’s critics, he actually fits more into the shadows of the late Jerry Garcia, as the two share a love for literature penned from the Beatnik generation, including the popular On The Road.

“I spent a lot of time with Kerouac early on,” he said about his upbringing in a recent interview. "I just liked the Beat poets.”

Tickets for Childers’ upcoming 2018 North American tour will be going on sale this Friday, Nov. 10, and can be purchased by clicking here.
