Good news U2 fans!  The iconic Irish band has released "You're the Best Thing About Me," the first single off their forthcoming album Songs of Experience.

Layered over a classic U2 musical bed of echoing Edge guitar, thudding tom work from drummer Larry Mullen Jr. and steady bass line from Adam Clayton,  "You're the Best Thing About Me" may be their most optimistic-sounding single since "Beautiful Day," with Bono spouting lyrics "You're the best thing about me/The best thing that ever happened a boy/You're the best thing about me/I'm the kind of trouble that you enjoy."

What at first seems like a happy-go-lucky-in-love Bono, he quickly turns the story into one of dissatisfaction when he flips the script by singing "You're the best thing about me/the best things are easy to destroy/You're the best thing about me/Why am I/Why am I walking away."

No word yet on a release date for Songs of Experience but with the release of this first single and their upcoming appearance on The Tonight Show on Sept. 7, it's safe to say it will be happening sooner rather than later.
