Punk rock founding fathers X are celebrating a milestone by decking the halls this year. The seminal punk band, which formed in Los Angeles in 1977, have announced a 40th anniversary holiday tour that they've fittingly named X-mas.
The West Coast run of shows will take place between November and December and make six stops across California, Washington and Oregon. The festivities kick off on Nov. 22 at Novo in Los Angeles and take a four-week pause before revamping at San Diego's Observatory North Park on Dec. 22. Pre and post-Christmas shows at The Observatory in Santa Ana (Dec. 23), Seattle's Showbox (Dec. 27) and Portland's Crystal Ballroom (Dec. 28) precede a final gig at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco on Dec. 30.
The band has toured throughout North America sporadically since 2004, making stops at notable festivals like Coachella, SXSW, North by Northeast and All Tomorrow's Parties alongside solo tour legs. X's first two studio albums Los Angeles and Wild Gift were included on the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list, ranking at 287 and 333, respectively. They currently have an exhibit at the Grammy Museum titled "X: 40 Years of Punk in Los Angeles," which will run through early 2018.
Tickets for select shows go on sale this Friday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. PDT via AXS.com. Make sure to check back here for the latest X tour news and announcements. View the complete list of X-mas tour dates below.
