U.K. pop group Steps announced the new single "Neon Blue" on July 20. The fan-favorite will be quintet's next release to receive the remix and music video treatment.

"Neon Blue" is one of the songs on Steps' comeback album, Tears on the Dancefloor. The uplifting tune will follow lead single "Scared of the Dark" and the Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson-penned "Story of a Heart." Member Ian "H" Watkins considered "Neon" as one of Steps' gay anthems because of its colorful coming out message.

"Neon Blue" was penned by "Scared of the Dark" songwriters Carl Ryden and Fiona Bevan. In a burst of bright synths and piano, members Claire Richards, Lisa-Scott Lee, Faye Tozer, Lee Latchford-Evans and Watkins invite a friend who is down and out for a good time. "Come out, come out and dance with me / If you're down it's a remedy," they sing together. The ladies soar on their solo sections and so do the guys with self-proclaimed "blocals" (blokes' vocals). "Neon Blue" shines as a true Steps classic with feel good lyrics that could light up the darkest room.

"Neon Blue" is now available on iTunes and Apple Music alongside Tears on the Dancefloor. Steps is going to tour the U.K. this winter in support of the album.
