Alice Cooper fans can check out the first trailer for “Alice Cooper: Live From the Astroturf,” which will premiere this spring at the Phoenix Film Festival. The film documents the surprise 2015 reunion of the surviving members of the classic-era lineup of Alice Cooper.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer premiered the trailer on Feb. 13 via Rolling Stone. Directed by Steven Gaddis, “Live from the Astroturf” explores a reunion concert held by Cooper and ex-bandmates Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway and Neal Smith along with guitarist Ryan Roxie at an intimate show, performed on Oct. 6, 2015, in Dallas at Goods Records.
The concert was masterminded by Good Records owner and Alice Cooper superfan - Chris Penn. What started as a simple Record Store Day event with Dunaway enlisted to sign copies of his 2015 memoir "Snakes! Guillotines! Electric Chairs!" turned into a full-blown Alice Cooper reunion concert.
“Live From the Astroturf” features the reunited shock-rocker's entire eight-song set, mixed by longtime Cooper producer Bob Ezrin. The documentary also includes interviews with the surviving members. Fans can check out the first film trailer above.
Cooper and his current touring lineup will be back on the road this spring. Rock's favorite boogieman will perform a combination of festivals and headline shows throughout the spring and summer in continued support of his chart-topping 2017 album Paranormal, which featured contributions from the original Alice Cooper band members.
The world romp begins May 3 in Mexico City at Domination Festival, followed by a tour of Europe and the U.K., which will launch Aug. 31 in Aarburg, Switzerland, at Riverside Arena. Grab your Alice Cooper tickets right here at AXS. For all the latest detail on Alice Cooper, click here.
