Heads up, Army! BTS and Halsey are teaming up to deliver their worldwide television debut performance of “Boy with Luv” at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards. Kelly Clarkson will host the live ceremony, which will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 1. The show will be broadcast live on NBC.

The announcement was made during BTS’ musical guest performance of the track (sans Halsey) on “Saturday Night Live” on April 13. Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone served as host. (Watch the BBMAs promo clip above).

The South Korean pop superstars appeared on SNL one day after their highly-anticipated seven-track EP Map of the Soul: Persona, dropped on April 12. The band made history in the guest spot, as the first-ever Korean musical guests on NBC’s Emmy-winning sketch-comedy series. (Watch their SNL performance of “Boy with Luv” below).

These accolades follow the April 12 announcement that BTS is the first K-pop group and Asian act to crest past 5 billion streams on Spotify. The Halsey collab “Boy with Luv” is the EP’s lead single. The record also boasts the Ed Sheeran collaboration “Make It Right.”

This year, BTS is nominated for two Billboard Music Awards for Top Social Artist and Top Duo/Group. In performing at the live ceremony, they join previously-announced performers Kelly Clarkson, Khalid, Sam Smith and Normani, Lauren Daigle, Panic! At The Disco and 2019 Icon Award recipient Mariah Carey.

The Billboard Music Awards are known for delivering some of the most explosive performances during award show season. With BTS in the mix, fans are undoubtedly going to show their love loudly and proudly for RM, Suga, V, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope and Jin.

The Bangtan Boys swept the Top Social Award at the BBMAs for two years in a row. Will they pull out a third consecutive win this year?
